WELCOME
TO CITY at work

OUR MISSION
CITY at work
(Community
Initiatives to Teach Youth) believes
that it takes a city, not just a village, to raise a child.
CITY
at work partners with
NYC schools to provide science, social studies, technology,
and multimedia curriculum and professional development. We
work
with school administrators and teachers to develop specific
and sustainable curriculum that follows NYS and NYC learning
standards and provides professionalization in
three primary fields: Science, Social Studies, and Multimedia
& Technology.
In
year-long partnerships or customized packages, CITY
at work helps schools to develop comprehensive curricula,
including pacing calendars, digitized subject curriculum, teaching
websites, and hands-on, inquiry-based classroom activities that
are published for the school and thus act as a renewable school
resource, year after year.

WHAT
WE OFFER
OUR
PROGRAMS
Just
as each NYC school and professional
team
of educators is unique, every CITY at
work partnership is specifically designed to harness
a school's strengths, while improving their curricula, assessment
tools, and 21st century classroom technology.
Our programs enable teachers to incorporate
21st education tools into their classrooms, including websites,
photography, video, online Webquests, and Smartboards to improve
their classroom instruction for differentiated learners. Empowered
teachers in turn create empowered student learners. We work
to ensure that students of all ages develop the necessary skills
in math, science, technology, and critical thinking that will
empower them to pursue 21st century higher education and professional
careers.
